Sakhi for South Asian Women mourns the passing of distinguished journalist and longtime ally, Arthur Pais. Pais, a prolific writer and editor for Rediff.com and India Abroad known for his generosity, curious mind, and appreciation for the arts, wrote frequently about Sakhi’s work and advocacy over the years. We thank him for bringing visibility both to our organization and the issues of domestic violence, gender equality, and LGBTQ rights within the South Asian diaspora and here in New York City. We will remember his commitment to the South Asian community and the power and compassion of his storytelling.
