Building on the success of last year’s sold out “Gender Justice and the Arts” event at Bowery Poetry Club, we are pleased to announce the third iteration of this multi-disciplinary show that explores the intersections of creative expression and gender politics.
In an effort to build solidarity and form important bridges between our various communities, Sakhi is bringing together Asian and Asian American artists who identify as women, transgender, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming and have a strong commitment to gender justice as part of their creative work.
Featuring performances by: ELSZ, Anju Madhok, Ashni Davé, Anjna Swaminathan, Dee Mandiyan, Shriya Samavai, Kiran Bath, Zadian Madhuri, Dheiva Moorthy, Debayani Kar, and the Assemkala Initiative.
This show will take place Monday, August 6th, at 8:30PM at the Bowery Poetry Club on the Lower East Side.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase artwork. Cash bar will be available at the venue.
Tickets are sold out. There will be “Drinks with the Artists” at 11:00 PM nearby at Von bar (3 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10012)
