Sakhi for South Asian Women exists to represent the South Asian diaspora in a survivor-led movement for gender-justice and to honor the collective and inherent power of all survivors of violence. Sakhi is committed to serving survivors through a combination of efforts including—but not limited to—direct services, advocacy and organizing, technical assistance, and community outreach.

Director of Development

The Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for ensuring that Sakhi acquires the resources necessary to achieve its mission and reaches diverse and relevant audiences in the movement for gender justice in the South Asian diaspora.

Anti-Violence Program Advocate (Bengali-Speaking)

Sakhi is looking for a full-time Bengali speaking Anti-Violence Program Advocate to join our team in our new office location in Queens. The Advocate will provide trauma-informed advocacy, intervention and support to survivors of domestic violence.

Mental Health Counselor

Sakhi is looking for a full-time, licensed Mental Health Counselor to work within Sakhi’s new program: The Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation South Asian Safe Families Initiative. The short-term goal of the program will be to strengthen the bonds between primary caregivers and children with the long-term aim of reducing future generational cycles of violence.

Economic Empowerment Program Manager

The Economic Empowerment (EE) Program Manager is responsible for assisting with the development, planning and implementation of Sakhi’s strategic vision, goals, and objectives for the EE Program, and for providing supervision to Sakhi’s EE Advocates.

Youth Empowerment Program Advocate

Sakhi is looking for a full-time, Youth Empowerment Program Advocate within Sakhi’s new program: The Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation South Asian Safe Families Initiative.
